    I agree with all the testimonials above about the positive experience they had with Spectrum Overhead Door, owned by Travis. Here is the comment that I just made on the BBB website:
    Extremely positive experience with Travis, the owner. During a Centerpoint power outage of several hours this date, 9-7-15, I manually raised the garage door to get a car out. After Centerpoint restored the power, I tried to lower the garage door. Could not do either by the power button or manually. Neither method would engage the carriage. Looked through the yellow page ads and was skeptical of the discounts offered as being just discounts from inflated prices. Found Katy Pros through Ace Hardware. Spectrum Overhead Door listed as being only a short distance from Cinco Ranch where I live (Northlake Village). So I called Spectrum and talked with Travis. Described the situation. He siad that the charge would be $40 to come restore the operation, and $75 to do that plus oiling and making any adjustments and “tuning.” He said he could be there within the hour. He was. As he pulled the cord to reengage the carriage, he explained to me how to do it. Simple, but at 82 I had forgotten how (I think I once knew how). He also took the time to operate the opener a couple of times to make sure that it would resume its normal fast speed of operation. He was so nice. He was there some 5 to 10 mins or so. I said I would get him a check for the $40. He began filling in the invoice form before I could leave for the check. He handed it to me and said there was No Charge; that he had just completed a job nearby, and this stop was on his way home which was nearby. The invoice showed a ZERO charge. He said that he likes to be reasonable. I said that he is “more than reasonable.” Needless to say here, I highly recommend Travis and his Spectrum company to one and all for their garage door problems..

    Service is the best I’ve ever seen. Got to the shop to get some parts, uncertain of how to actually do the repair myself. I usually take care of things, but overhead doors are not my forte. I didn’t know what to expect when I walked through the door, but when I did, I got a full description and explanation of how to do it, which tools I’d need, what more should I look for and a lot more advice. I failed to ask for his name, but the owner was incredibly friendly, super helpful and resourceful. His prices are fair and it’s just a pleasure to see places like that.

    I can’t say enough good about Spectrum. From the initial phone call through the handshake goodbye, the service was courteous, prompt, knowledgeable, and very affordable. Our technician “Mike” responded within a couple hours of my call and quickly identified the problem, explained what was wrong in great detail, and offered several options for repair. He was courteous, professional, and efficient. Not only did he perform the necessary service on the garage door opener, he replaced my garage light and asked my yard service men (who were there at the same time) to come into the garage and blow out the leaves and debris that had collected over the last few months. The price was very reasonable and exactly what was quoted. Honestly, when the unit broke, I had been expecting an expensive ordeal and walked away with unexpected blessings instead. I would not hesitate to recommend Spectrum to anyone who needs quick, expert service.

The technician, Travis, was on time, professional, and explained the process of replacing the broken spring and the time it would take for the repair. He was thorough and explained the rational behind his 25-minute methodical process. He went above and beyond to lubricate all the hinges, tighten the opener chain, and even made sure the door functioned properly before leaving. Reasonable, reliable, and warrantied for 2 years (parts & labor). I would use them again and recommend their services to my closest friends.

    I would love to commend the superior, prompt, accurate, and amazing service I received from Spectrum via technician Travis. Spectrum communicated with me to coordinate my appointment via phone and text and arrived an hour earlier than projected. Travis diagnosed and repaired my problem within an hour and explained everything throughout the process. Travis provided above and beyond repair including preventative maintenance measures. I’ll always call on Spectrum first for all of my garage installations, maintenance, and repair! Thanks Spectrum!

    Very impressive service. Called Saturday morning 09:30 and got an appointment for 10:30-11:00 the same day. Service Technician (Travis) arrived within the promised time and had my two torsion springs replaced within 45 minutes and within prior promised quote. He did an overall lubrication service and check-up free of charge. I would recommend this company.

    Had Spectrum come all the way out to Wharton TX to repair my overhead door opener. I assumed they would need to replace the entire unit but they only replaced a few parts which saved me quite a bit of money. Definitely would recommend them.

    Did some research (youtube), got a few bids, and was thrilled to go with a neighbor, Spectrum. Michael came out and explained the benefits of a dual spring over a single. He also checked all the parts and told me honestly that the only thing that needed replacing was the broken spring. He lubricated everything and showed me what to do myself every 6 months to keep the door, spring and garage door opening in good repair. Thrilled to pieces with Spectrum. Would absolutely recommend them!

    Spectrum installed a new garage door opener for me in 2010. Travis was very professional and got a good deal for me on a new opener. I was very pleased with the service and recommended Spectrum to a friend and my friend was also happy with the service.

    In July 2013, my garage door appeared to be possessed (went up and down randomly). Travis came out and adjusted the tension and checked all of the wires to ensure they weren’t stripped or crossed. The door opener was out of warranty and, although I offered to pay Travis for his time, he refused because he wasn’t sure he’d actually fixed the problem. I don’t know if the tension adjustment corrected the issue or Travis worked some magic, but I haven’t had any problems since.

    Very nice and professional. I’d recommend Spectrum to anyone.

    Garage door opener spring is broken so at 5:55 AM I call Spectrum Door in Pearland intending to leave a voice message with instructions for someone to please call me when they open, to my surprise Travis answers the call, asks a few questions concerning door, gives me a repair cost and assures me he will be at my home in Texas City between 4:00 & 4:30 that day to take care of problem. Travis arrives on time, has me go in garage with him and explains what will be done and why, and within 40 minutes advises me he has finished the job and very kindly thanks me for the opportunity to do the job.

Mike was the service guy and as mentioned by others he is very thorough and explains what he is going to do and what you can do as a home owner to prevent future issues.     We had Spectrum do springs, bearings, wheels.
    Work was May 2011.

    Friday June 7, 2013 one spring “popped”
    and Travis took the call and fixed it Monday.

    No charge due to spring warranty.

    Living with a broken door is no fun. Thank you for repair and standing by it.

    Thank you for having me call today (Monday) after leaving a message on Friday with a sensor issue on my garage door opener that was installed a month ago. Thank you, Travis, for doing your utmost to get me off the phone with assurances that there could be nothing wrong with intermittently working sensors and that I need not have a technician out unless I were prepared to spend some more money. My thanks also for telling me to go fix it myself. The helpful suggestion that I cannot keep my family’s hands off the sensors was most excellent indeed. I feel so well served by this experience that I will be sure to call someone else should this issue or others arise.

    Mr Waller, I am sincerely sorry that you feel that I was not willing to take care of your situation. I am more than willing to help. I kindly asked you to just “check” the alignment first, which takes just seconds, and would save you a service call! This was for your benefit. I can’t tell you how many times we get the exact same call from customer who are thankful that we offered them a quick solution to their problem. I also emphasized that you could call me back for additional help if that didn’t work after checking on it. We always honor warranty issues as proven by many testimonials seen here.

    Also, you may note that our invoice states that there is “No Warranty” on opener adjustments. This is also standard for the industry. The operation of the door and opener require minor adjustments over time that are due to outside conditions such as heat, cold, moisture, dust and dirt accumulation, lack of lubrication, rodents, vibration, and even small cob webs.

    If you are still having trouble, I will come by personally and get to the bottom of it!

    Enjoying the setting sun last evening I heard a loud clatter from the locked garage – the one garage door torsion spring had just spontaneously parted. Called and spoke with Travis at 08:30 this morning. He talked me into using two torsion springs (one yellow, one white) in lieu of one big gold one (better for the door apparently – a double door at 7ft x 16ft – and easier / safer to install), albeit the price was just the same as the big gold one I was about to order. He delivered the two torsion springs and winders to my office at 11:30, and spent 10 minutes briefing me on the “Dos and Don’ts” of changing torsion springs. Told me to call him if I needed anything once I got into the job – very re-assuring. But his briefing was good and I didn’t need to make that call; after two hours DIY work this evening the door was back to being fully functional. Great service, very helpful and professional advice. Give them a call – you’ll be pleased that you did.

    I think he went above his normal service to take of the customer.
    Travis was very help full and he really now what he was doing.
    I had planed to doing it myself but after watching Travis go to work on the door
    I am glad i made the call it save me lot’s time, money and my safety.

    Garage Door went cantawampus on a Sunday afternoon. A lot of folks can bring you back to normal during regular working hours – but these guys not only fixed our problem but improved our situation at a fair price.

    What can I say. Professional…Professional…Professional. Called this morning and about 2 hours later called to say he was on his way. Inspected my other door, changed bracket, replaced 2 hinges and lubricated everything and with warranty. Door now hardly makes any noise when it opens or closes. Will definitely use again and highly recommend. Service far exceeded expectations. Thanks again

    I have no choice but to write another post (see post #36). this is the second time I’ve ever called Spectrum, and again, they’ve exceeded my expectations. Called and within the hour, Travis was at my home. From our first encounter, the service was commendable and nothing has changed. No argument about my warranty.     Spectrum is a friendly company that provides excellent and quick professional service without overcharging. I had a broken torsion spring, which they replaced, but I also asked the technician if he could install new torsion bar bearings and new roller wheels. He had them in his van, and the additional cost was very reasonable. Now my 20-year-old garage door is “like new.” I would use them again.

    I recently had a issue with my garage door that no one seemed to be able to repair correctly. I found Spectrum Overhead Door Company and called them. They arrived when they promised they would and got to work. Their service is amazing. I was told what the issues were and they took the time to repair the door and make sure it was repaired correctly. Their work has a warranty also. In this fast paced world we live in when it seems most companys don’t care, it is refreshing to find this company who actually cares about it’s customers and wants to do their best to you help you. I highly recommend this company to you. This is the only company I would ever call. They are the best!

    My garage door opener cratered on a Saturday morning. I had some things to do that morning and I had to go buy a new opener. I didn’t get around to calling Spectrum until 2:30 ish that day. They had a technician, Mike, at our house in less than 2 hours.

    Mike was professional and thorough in his work and a very nice guy. He got the work done in a timely manner and cleaned up everything before he left. I will call Spectrum for any of my future garage door repair needs.

    I called at 9am and Mike was out to our house at 11.45am. The new springs were installed, and all the wheels replaced and I was back to work at 1.30. He gave us some great tips to keep the door working and healthy longer, and the price was very affordable. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again.
